CHP Project Wins Energy Star Award
This CHP project requires 25 percent less fuel than the typical system of onsite boilers and purchased electricity. The EPA recognized the environmental benefits by presenting Macon Municipal Utilities with a 2007 ENERGY STAR Award. SKW’s services included a financial feasibility analysis using a range of gas costs and turbine/HRSG options. Turn-key services were then provided for specification, design and construction, including design of high voltage substation upgrade; generator and /protective relay design, and PLC programming and testing.
