Larry Graham elected to national surveying organization board

Larry was appointed to the National Board of Governors of NSPS to represent the Kansas Society of Land Surveyors (KSLS) in 2007.  As Area VI Director, Larry will represent Nebraska, Iowa, Kansas, Missouri, Oklahoma and Arkansas on the NSPS Board of Directors. He is licensed to practice land surveying in Kansas, Missouri, Iowa, Idaho, Illinois, Nebraska and Nevada.

The KSLS represents nearly 500 members of the surveying community in Kansas, Oklahoma, Missouri and Colorado by providing quality continuing education and professional development opportunities. The Society’s mission is to foster professionalism in its members thereby protecting the public. Larry is a former President of the organization, a current Director on the KSLS Board and the Kansas NSPS Governor.

The National Society of Professional Surveyors (NSPS) has been the national voice and advocate for the surveying profession in the United States for more than 25 years as a member of the American Congress on Surveying and Mapping (ACSM).

Surveying is a multi-faceted community. Beyond private practice, land surveyors work in various federal, state, and local government agencies with geospatial information and planning mandates such as The Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA), the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA), the National Geodetic Survey (NGS), the Federal Geodetic Data Committee (FGDC), the United States Geological Survey (USGS), and the Bureau of Land Management (BLM). All have a strong surveying and mapping component in their programs which have a bearing on the national land cadastre, floodplain management,  homeownership,  natural hazards mitigation, and homeland security.
