Saddlehorn Pipeline Project

Challenge:

Saddlehorn Pipeline Company wanted to construct a pipeline capable of transporting up to 400,000 barrels per day of crude oil from Platteville, Colorado to Magellan’s storage facilities in Cushing, Oklahoma.

Solution:

SKW provided preliminary survey and design of the 550-mile 20-inch oil pipeline, from Colorado to Oklahoma.

The project included preliminary and final routing, corridor survey, utility locate surveys, preparation of exhibit sketches for tract acquisition, pipeline design and preparation of alignment sheets for the route, as well as bore profiles and design for horizontal directional drilling and conventional bores.  Construction of the project began in 2015.

Outcome:

SKW’s design and survey work will allow Saddlehorn to transport the desired oil to its storage facility for distribution in a safe and efficient manner.
